NUMBERS are often seen as absolutes, the building blocks of rational mathematics. NUMBERS can also be used to delineate facts. But the pieces of information we deem “facts” are far from absolute; they can be manipulated or obfuscated by the sender, rejected or used to confirm a bias by the receiver. The NUMBERS set out here are factual, but they are also intended to provoke thought and further research.
